One of the founding members of DASH, Larry Brockett not only started one of the first agility clubs in Orange County, but also was one of the first people to become an AKC agility judge. He remained a judge for 25 years and was honored by the AKC for that achievement. It should be mentioned that Larry and another judge/competitor were asked to award the last bar of the the course to the competitor who achieved the first MACH title, and they began a tradition that continues to this day.
Larry and his wife Susan (also a founder and a 30 year DASH member) bred Bichon Frise, which achieved titles in both conformation and agility. Larry was recognized by the Bichon Frise Club of America for his accomplishments. Larry’s passion was dogs and agility, and as a club, we honor him for his contributions to our sport.
